This Thanksgiving, both of my sons were busy with their other family. I was left alone for Thanksgiving :-(. My son Ryan booked a table for me at Santa Rosa Union Hotel. He told me that he really loves the restaurant. I have never been there. I have been to the one in Occidental 40 times over forty years. The Santa Rosa Union Hotel blows the Occidental one out of the water. The interior decorations are fantastic. Everything is new and modern. The tables are well situated. The decore is perfect. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff. I spent a few moments in the bar enjoying a bloody mary. The bar is totally set up if you enjoy sports on large screen televisions and drinking with friends. My table was ready right away. I was seated right in front of the fireplace , which made my Thanksgiving dinner even better. They must have given me the best waitress in the entire house. She was polite, efficient, and friendly. She took care of me throughout the entire meal. This is why I gave her a 30% tip. Good service must be acknowledged. The Thanksgiving dinner was one of the best I've had in many, many years. It was just like mom used to make. The chef's got it perfect. I savored every bite. The excellent food and service relinquished my sadness. I've been looking for a new quality restaurant for months.I found my new go-to spot! The Union Hotel in Santa Rosa. 11/30/24 update. It was so good on Thanksgiving that I'm going back to night 11/30/24 to try the special prime rib dinner. . I booked my reservations online, and it was super simple. The Gonnella's have hit a home run out of the ball park! 3 cheers for a job well done. Try it, you'll like it! 12-23-24 I returned for Christmas Eve Prime rib dinner. It was out of this world! My waitress Liddy was awesome. Another 5 stars

This place has something you won’t find anywhere else: Gabby. His passion and his work ethic is unmatched. Tough to put into words—you’ll just have to come down and find out for yourself. We are regulars who just recently had our 34-person wedding rehearsal dinner here. Now Union will be a part of this special time in our lives forever, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Food and service are both good, but kitchen closed earlier than I thought

We had a very delicious meal at Union Hotel. From the wine selection to the sweet desserts, everything was fantastic. They had a great outdoor seating section that was very nice & spacious. We will definitely be back.

Upon entering we were not really greeted. It felt as though they were surprised we wanted to dine there. The restaurant itself was very dark so we chose to sit outside. Outside was a lot better as they had a few TVs that were playing March madness games. The server was really nice and welcoming when we ordered he told us about fried chicken sandwiches that were not in their menu. I had the extremely spicy fried chicken sandwich with mac and cheese. The bun was toasted really well and the chicken was delicious. Usually when I order extra spicy most places aren't that spicy but this one definitely had a kick to it. I would go here again for that sandwich.

The Union is my neighborhood bar and restaurant... The food and bar are great but really the people make it perfect. Nikki, our server and the bartender, was great and was asking us if everything was okay. Not for a second did we have to wait for her or anyone else to take our order. Lots of televisions to watch the Olympics... I had the chicken parmesan, delicious and definitely two dinners hearty...
